Friday Name that Movie

Ok, once again, this week there will be a theme, since it makes things so much easier for me, but it won't be as easy as last week. Also, because of the theme I'm using, some of these movies may have been used in previous weeks. Guess them all (and the theme) and you might win a prize.*

1. The green felt on the table represents the earth and the balls represent all the people on the earth. Now the *object* of the game is for the white ball to knock all the other balls off the table. And what is the last ball to get knocked off, the black ball!
2. Sit your five-dollar ass down before I make change.
3. Either they don't know, don't show, or don't care about what's going on in the hood.
4. Tell me about it Stud.
5. I gave 'im that nickname. When he was little he had these buck teeth and big ears and he was so cute, wike a wittle rabbit.
6. If our lord wasn't testing us, how would you account for the proliferation, these days, of this obscene rock and roll music, with its gospel of easy sexuality and relaxed morality?
7. Do you still know the Muffin Man?
8. There are no victims in this classroom.
9. Well, it didn't look like a two-horse town, but try finding a decent hair jelly.
10. It's a decision a girl's gotta make early in life, if she's gonna be a nice girl or a cunt.

* There is no prize.

Theme: something to do with the theme songs of these movies? musicians as actors?

  2. 7. Shrek 2

That's all I got, and I'll go with leann's theme of musicians as actors, since I can't think of anything better.

  3. All the guesses are correct, except for the theme. Shrek isn't a musician as far as I know. Good guess, though.

  4. 1. Boomerang, GREAT flick (well, the first half).

    2. New Jack City, one of the most formative movies of my childhood. I remember being like 12 and that movie being the greatest thing ever. Nino Brown represent, yo!

    6. Everybody cut, everybody cut. Footloose.

    Did we get 'em all?

As for the theme...hmmm, I have no idea. All of the lines are spoken by people that look like John Lithgow?

  5. We hadn't guessed 10 yet, but it's Saturday Night Fever.

Still no clue on the theme, though.

  6. All correct, that didn't take long. The theme is kind of tricky this week, so maybe it will take a little longer.

  7. Can it involve the speakers or just the movies or what? Or is it anything goes?

    OK, let's work together -- Eddie Murphy's in #1 and #7. Travolta's in #4 and #10. Ok, I have no clue.

  8. maybe something to do with degrees of separation from Kevin Bacon?

  9. It's anything goes. Last week it was Dennis Quaid movies with lines that he spoke. This week, however it's much more abstract.

And nothing to do with Kevin Bacon, other than that he's in one of the movies.

  10. Is the theme something like people who are outsiders or misfits or square pegs?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Couldn't that apply to just about anyone?

  12. At this point I think we need a hint...

  14. Are they all movies whose soundtracks you own?

    ReplyDelete
  15. No, but you're getting warm.

  17. All these movies have songs on their soundtracks that were featured in your "Name That Song" post on August 13th.

    That's a pretty random theme!

My last post was deleted due to a lack of post-copy-and-paste proofreading. Sorry about that.

  18. That is correct, Chemist. And if you think that theme is random, I almost used all your random songs from last week for my Name that Song contest. But I didn't because I didn't like many of them.
