NFL 2008

The NFL season can never get here fast enough, so it's always nice to have some off season activity. Today the schedule came out. It looks like the Cowboys are on national TV six times. Of course, I wish it were 16, of course, but I think six is pretty good. Also, none of their games will be called by Bryant Gumbel this season, so that's great.

And the draft is coming up soon as well.

Bills play Miami Dolphins in Toronto first week in December. (which is the beginning of the end of the Bills in Buffalo)

Why it is strange:

1. Bills historically sell out Miami game, Bills fans consider them our biggest rival
2. Bills have always had a significant home weather advantage playing Miami in Buffalo in the cold and snow.

Why it makes sense:
1. Bills have a hard time selling late season games in Buffalo because of the weather. The play the Pats at home over the holidays but typically the 500,000 plus people who have moved out of Buffalo are home so they usually can sell that game out.

And the Bills play in Arizona in early October. Must get tickets.

Yay! More Jessica Simpson!

I'm sure the Bills can expect a nice crown in Toronto as well VMH, or the NFL probably wouldn't do these things. Also, I would think the Bills get something from the league to give up a home game. As for your point about the weather, I doubt Toronto is particularly balmy, so they should still have that advantage. Also, the Dolphins suck, so it shouldn't be a big deal anyway. Oh, and this is the second year in a row the Dolphins will play in another country. Must suck to be so bad that teams don't even care where they play you.

Are Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson even dating anymore? Anyway, who cares? Your team is in the biggest market, and they won the Superbowl, and they still only put them on national TV 4 times.

That is thing, the stadium they are going to play in Toronto seats 55,000 and they already have 100,000 requests (before it was announced who the opponenet was - Bills are playing a home game in Toronto the next five years or until the owner dies and the team gets sold - leading theory is they will move to Toronto) so it wouldn't matter who they were playing. They are playing San Fran and Seattle at home this year which would be expected to be tougher games to sellout so it would make sense to move those games to Toronto. And the Toronto stadium is a dome so weather is not a factor. Weather late in the year is usually a big advantage to the Bills when playing warm weather teams.

Ah, yeah, I guess I should have realized they'd play at the Skydome. So now I can definitely see what you're saying about the weather. And you're not so much worried that you're losing anything as far as attendance with the Dolphins game in Toronto, just that you could have a bigger net gain with other teams that won't sell out an actual home game.

I don't actually follow Romo-Jessica.

Actually, it's lucky for the Cowboy fans that they're on national TV so much during the season. They don't seem to last long in the postseason. Enjoy it while it lasts. ;)

Yes, the Cowboys have a horrible history in the postseason, having been to a paltry eight Superbowls, and only won barely over half of those.
