Seen at Whole Foods

Michelline and I were driving around Orlando this morning and stumbled upon their only Whole Foods!
10122008 Whole Foods Orlando

After reading Mrs. Furious wax rhapsodic about it for so long, we had to stop and take a look around. As we're pulling in to park, I noticed this coexist bumper sticker on three different cars. Then we cam across this car and I had to take a picture.10122008 Van at whole Foods

I turned to Michelline and said "We're among our own people." We saw a few Obama stickers but no McCain stickers. It was too good to last. On the way out, we were almost backed into by a van with a "Yes on 2" sticker. Amendment 2 is Florida's version of California's prop 8. Fucking bigoted assholes.

I can't wait until Jacksonville has our own Whole Foods. Of course, this isn't until December 10. And it will be in Mandarin, which is about 40 miles away, but hey. We'll still have one. This place is awesome.

Yeah, I was going to say, they're building one here, I just found out the other day when we went to lunch in the same shopping center.

I probably wouldn't shop there even if it was close enough, though. I'm sure it's more expensive than Wal-Mart.

"Yes on Prop 8" stickers make my skin crawl. They have three little people holding hands on them, suggesting "family" and shit, because these people do not understand irony.

Definitely. But they have stuff there Walmart doesn't dream of carrying. And it's MUCH nicer inside. I'm thinking we'll probably go there once a month to stock up on things. It's too far to drive there more frequently.

WalMart is evil.

Whole Foods stores usually have great beer sections. Like, really good.

Not in Maryland, of course, but in sane states.

I typically just buy specialty items at Whole Foods. You can get some pretty good pre-made meals there. Most good grocery stores have as equal organic choices as Whole Foods.

I think they would compete more directly with Trader Joe's though Whole Foods has much more produce.

But my Number 1 reason:

Whole Foods stores usually have great beer sections.

We are having to do without a Whole Foods or Trader Joes here in Asheville, but there are a couple of very good alternatives.

What we miss the most is the frozen stuff and some pantry items available at Trader Joes, and the Whole Foods "Everyday 365" store brand stuff. That's what helps compensate for the stuff that's overpriced.

Our "regular" local grocery chain has a decent selection of organic groceries, but not so much with the produce...but Whole Foods produce isn't all organic either, and often it is outrageously overpriced.

One of the best things about Whole Foods is the people that work there—knowledgeable, courteous and helpful.

Oh, and there's The Cookies.

I hope you spend LOTS of $$$ at Whole Foods because I need my stock to go up. I bought at $26 I think and it's about half that now.

While I don't miss my old job it sure was nice being across the street from the Whole Foods flagship store (they even have a walk-in refrigerated beer department).

Now if I want to go there I have to drive 12 miles each way and deal with the horrendous underground parking. I haven't been since July.

Since our closest grocery store is 9 miles away, I think having a Whole Foods only 12 miles away would make me exceedingly happy. As it is, the closest one is about 180 miles away. When Jacksonville finally gets one, it will be about 40 miles away.

Because upholding the definition of marriage is "bigoted".

The "definition of marriage"? That phrase means nothing, has no legal or traditional meaning. And even if it did, bad traditions should be scrapped, and should have no influence on the law. The whole "traditional marriage" argument is a red herring for anti-gay religious bigotry. If you oppose civil marriage for gay people, you are a bigot.

You have to express more your opinion to attract more readers, because just a video or plain text without any personal approach is not that valuable. But it is just form my point of view
