Michelline's roux-en-y gastric bypass is done. We got to the hospital this morning around 5 AM and she had the surgery from 7:30 to 9:00. According to the surgeon, it was very routine, no problems or leaks. She's been sleeping now ever since coming out of surgery. We're hoping to say goodbye to diabetes, high blood pressure, back pain and 80 or 90 pounds (not to mention the $10800.00 check I wrote this morning).

Well, I'm out and I'm still alive. At least I think I am. Seriously, this is an awesome surgery. I have like 6 little incisions and that's it. Up until about a an hour ago, I had a headache that wouldn't quit (for 3 days!). The nurse at the hospital called and advised me to have a cup of hot tea with caffeine in it. Totally off diet, but it made the headache go away. So she's my hero :)

I've dropped 12 pounds since the surgery. WOOHOO!

Yes, shift, she's recovering well. She's been back at work for a week and is getting used to her new dietary limitations. As of today, she's down 20 pounds since the morning of surgery.
Has anyone mentioned that M looks a lot like Lisa Loeb in that hospital picture?
