Broadcasters piss me off - And players too edition

Has there ever been a broadcaster or player who referenced whichever game they play without preceeding it with "the game of...?" I know they have airtime to fill, but do those three words really add so much that they can never leave them out?

Welcome back, John

Indeed.

Also, on the subject of hand, I think that adding "the game of" can produce a more pleasing cadence to an otherwise drab sentence.

For example: "I was watching football."

Or: "I never could have predicted that I would meet my true love while watching the game of footbal."

See? Much nicer. :)
