Frigidaire sucks - Part II
Some of my two or three long time readers may remember my original Frigidaire sucks post. Well, anyway, they did manage to fix the refrigerator after about two weeks without one. But of course a couple of weeks ago (or shortly after the warranty expired), it broke again. So we just bought a new one, which sucks, since it was barely two years old, but hopefully this one will last a while. Anyway, I just wanted to let everyone know not to buy a Frigidaire. Not because of the product being a lemon, that is going to happen, and could with any brand, I'm sure, but because their service sucks and they don't care about their customers getting what they paid for.

I don't make a move on major purchases without consulting Consumer Union's Consumer Reports. For example their current "best buy" recommendation is a $540 Whirlpool top freezer model. To put that in perspective Whirlpool was 3 on the list. The highly rated number 1 (GE) cost $1210. Frigidare was number 9 on the list (of top freezers) and cost $700. I don't always follow their recommendations, but, I always start there.
Talk about getting what you pay for - my parents got a Montgomery Ward store brand, nice-but-not-too-expensive fridge when I moved into a townhouse in 1991, while I was in law school. It lasted for 15 years before it finally gave up. I think I got more than my money's worth (OK, their money's worth). Sorry you've had such bad luck with Frigidaires.
100% not true....but it is easy to post a lie rather than looking up the truth.....
Frigidaire appliances are horrible... all of them. A little over2 years ago we moved into this new house with new frigidaire appliances (stove, microwave and dishwasher). In that time the microwave and the dishwasher have both gone belly up. In the case of the microwave it actually became a fairly dangerous situation because the unit would turn on when the door was opened... even if the timer wasn't set and it wasn't previously on. Anybody reading any of this and thinking about buying anything made by frigidaire should seriously think twice because it seems like their appliances don't last more than 2-3 years.
