Better Off Dead

I just ran across this interview with the writer/director of Better Off Dead. I was really surprised to find out that John Cusack didn't like this movie. I actually saw it first-run back in 1985 and I've always loved it. When I think about 80's movies this is one that always comes to mind.

Great, great, great movie. If John Cusack didn't like it, he can fuck off. It was certainly better than that piece of shit, Say Anything, which would be long forgotten by now without that song.

Also, I imagine it's about a million times better than anything he's been in in the last ten years or so.

Absolutely, 100% agreed!

Great movie.

Cusak is a moron. I have a friend from NOLA who had the unfortunate experience of having to deal with him. He's a big whiney baby with a bad attitude and a temper to match.

Hollywood star at his worst...All the time it appears.

"Two dollars."

Now you guys are going to get Shakes going.

I don't know anything about his personality, but I generally like him in movies. I just don't get why he'd hate such a hilarious movie. And John, I agree with you 100%. I saw Say Anything first run also (probably with you), and I remember leaving the theater thinking about how much it sucked, except for that Gas 'N Sip line.

It has raisins in it. You like raisins.

Oh, it looks like the pages got stuck together...

Yeah, the gas and sip part was funny, and Jeremy Piven was one of those guys, which makes it even better now. But the plot was boring, I didn't give a shit about the guy, his girlfriend, or her father.
