Warning! Soft drinks injure, Coke, Pepsi mum

First, let me say that I really don't care if they put warning labels on soft drinks. It's certainly not going to hurt anyone, but are you kidding me? Does anyone think this is going to make the slightest bit of difference? Is it because the ones on cigarettes worked so well?

A US Consumer group on Wednesday called for cigarette-style warnings on soft drinks to alert consumers that too much of the sugary beverages can make people fat and cause other health problems

Are there really people who don't know that? If there are, then I guess these labels might actually be a good idea, but somehow I doubt anyone thinks that soft drinks aren't bad for you.

John, here's a quasi-related article:
Coke's Calorie-Burning Enviga Slated for 2006 Debut

I wonder if it'll even make it to market & if it'll actually work...

well, if they can find some way to make it taste like Coke, and not like Grren Tea, then there may be some hope for it, but since they can't even make Diet Coke taste like Coke, I doubt they'll be able to.

Have you tried Coke Zero? Unlike Diet Coke, which is made with a different formula, I think Coke Zero is supposed to taste like Coke. And I think it succeeds, although I'm sure non-diet drinkers will still be able to tatse the aspertame.

Hey! I don't smoke and I'm sure it's because of those scary warning labels. (has nothing whatsoever to do with the fact that it's stinky and makes your hands and teeth yellow)

Coke Zero is no good. It's slightly better than Diet Coke.
