State Senate approves same-sex marriage bill

Some good news in an otherwise crappy news week. This has a long way to go, but any step towards treating all people like people is good, as far as I'm concerned.

I want to be excited by this huge step forward for my rights, but I am just too worried about my homeless friends and family in NOLA. It makes the CA victory seem hollow and trivial.

But that's just me.

Yeah, it does, but it is just a little tiny bit of good news, in the middle of all the horrible things we've seen this week.

It's been a long time in coming...coming at a good time or not. Let's just hope the next step gets it finished. I was proud to be living in Awnuldland today for a change. And yes...it's a good thing that they can be as miserable as straight couples...why do we have to have all the fun eh?
