While we're at it, let's bring back regular BASIC too

What are these people whining about? If you don't like the new language, then fine don't use it. But to get all bent out of shape because Microsoft is no longer going to support Visual Basic is just silly. First of all, if you like it so much, what difference does it make if Microsoft supports it or not? If you like it, keep using it. This is what happens in the computer world, we move on to better things. If you'd like to stay stuck in the past, then fire up the punch card machine, otherwise stop complaining. So VB.NET isn't like the Visual Basic you've come to know and love? Well, good! Visual Basic sucked anyway, if VB.NET isn't like it then chances are it is better. If you have a problem with it, maybe you should have hired some real programmers in the first place. You know, some that could write stuff in a decent language in the first place, or maybe learn a new language when it's necessary.

I haven't used Visual Basic much (because it sucks), and I haven't tried VB.NET at all, so I don't know what the differences are, but I would imagine that if you have competent programmers, that the differences should not be so overwhelming to them.
