Friday Night Name that Movie

Shamelessly stolen from Inspired by Shakespeare's Sister. Guess them all and you may win a prize.* And be sure to check back tomorrow for Saturday Night Name that Song.**

1. Hit paydirt with K-Dirt.
2. No sugar? Damn. Y'all ain't never got two things that match. Either ya got Kool-aid, no sugar. Peanut butter, no jelly. Ham, no burger. Daaamn.
3. I do wish we could chat longer, but I'm having an old friend for dinner.
4. We talked into the night--the kind of talk that seemed important until you discover girls.
5. Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.
6. Only one thing in the world could've dragged me away from the soft glow of electric sex gleaming in the window.
7. Oh, I forgot. You were sick the day they taught law at law school.
8. OK, so we got a trooper pulls someone over, we got a shooting, these folks drive by, there's a high-speed pursuit, ends here and then this execution-type deal.
9. ...you climb obstacles like old people fuck.
10. I hate snakes, Jock. I hate 'em.

* There is no prize.
** If I feel like it.

Let's see...

#3. Silence of the Lambs
#8. Fargo (still friggin' hilarious no matter how many times you've seen it)
#10. Raiders of the Lost Ark (still friggin' awesome no matter how many times you've seen it, though the sequels sucked)

All correct.

#4 is Stand By Me.

Is that in honor of Wil Wheaton's birthday?

John Howard said...

That's correct. And no, I didn't know it was Wil Wheaton's birthday.

#1: K-Dirt is Ford Fairlane, yes? Great flick!
#2: Friday
#5: Ferris Bueller
#6: Christmas Story, right?
#7: One of my all time faves, A Few Good Men.

John Howard said...

Great taste you have there, Ace. All correct.

Everyone already got the ones I know.

John Howard said...

Yeah, there's only one left. It's not particularly hard, though.

dadgummit... I woulda guessed some if I'd checked your blog earlier. Serves me right ...

I can't believe nobody got #9 - Full Metal Jacket. R. Lee Emery is the ultimate victim of typecasting now. He'll never play another non-military role as long as he lives.

John Howard said...

I thought he had played some other stuff since then. Anyway, that's correct. And everyone who is upset that they wentso quick, let this be a lesson to you to always keep my blog open and refreshed at all times.

The Disgruntled Chemist said...

He's been a bunch, as you can see from his IMDb page, but he's got either a military title (General, Colonel, etc.), or he's a coach or a cop, in probably 2/3 of them.

Yeah, this is true. But he was so damn good in that role its hard to picture him in anything else. He did appear in the dismal remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre but, like Chemist said, he was a cop. (A weird one, but a cop nonetheless).

R. Lee Ermey had a very good non-military role in Willard.

Oh by the way has anyone seen Mail Call? Priceless.

John Howard said...

Coach, that's the one I was thinking of. In Saving Silverman. I guess that is kind of similar, except that he was gay in that.

John Howard said...

I've seen commercials for Mail Call, but never actually watched it.

Mr. Shakes, I think this is the first time I've seen you comment outside of Shakespeare's Sister, I figured she kept you locked up in the basement or something.

I know I'm late but I'm going to play anyway, since this is the most I've been able to get.

1. Ford Fairlane (I don't care what people say, it's a great movie)
3. Silence of the Lambs
4. Stand By Me
5. Ferris Bueller's Day Off. A classic. I'm going to make Shelby watch this next time she's over.
6. A Christmas Story. Another great movie
10. Raiders of the Lost Ark

Damn, I forgot to put in #9 Full Metal Jacket.

John Howard said...

Well, those are all right, but you get no credit since they were all already gone.

I figured they were (I didn't read the other comments first, what would be the point, then?), but I wanted to put them up just for myself. However, I did get the same prize as the winner did, so that's something.

John Howard said...

Yeah, congratulations. Actually there is no winner, you have to get them all to win the prize.*

[hanging head in shame] I have learned the lesson.

Let's hope that everyone has.
