Supreme Court Justice O'Connor Resigns

This sucks. Bad enough Bush gets to appoint on Justice when Rehnquist decides to retire, or dies, now it's likely he'll get two. This wouldn't bother me so much if I thought the Democrats in Congress could do a good job fighting against ridiculous extremist nominations (which seem to be the only kind Bush knows how to make), but I have no confidence in them to do anything but roll over for the Republicans. If Bush nominates Alberto Gonzales, my head might explode. Anyway, things should get pretty interesting now.
